|Wine Grape||Barbera & blends|
Valerio Mondo picks this Barbera from his father’s oldest vineyard, on the highest south-east facing side of a hill in his home town of San Marzano di Oliveto, where his father began making wine in the 1950s. Roughly 8 months in barrel and 6 months in bottle before release. This is complete and utter dynamite, the best Barbera we’ve drunk. Deep in colour, floral, then round and full-bodied with black cherries and plums to the fore.
VITIGNO : Barbera d'Asti 100%
Wine obtained from selected grapes and picked by hand, in the cellar the skins remain to macerate in the must for 10 - 15 days.
The obtained wine is aged in wood for 6-8 months and further agitates 6 months in bottle before entering the market.
The scent is vinous, fruity, warm, with undergrowth shades.
It goes well with the first traditional dishes and any kind of meat, but also with seasoned cheeses.
