The color is bright and shiny red. The nose delivers intense fruity blend of cherry, blackberry and chocolate. On the palate the wine is surprisingly round and supple for a such a young wine. A pleasant sweetness accompany the very soft and smooth tannins. A fine note of wood, vanilla and spices appear in the finale together with overall fruity palate.

Chateau Kirwan’s “second wine” Charmes de Kirwan was initially produced in 1993 and has since then received the same care and improvements over the years as the 1st “Cru” -wine. However, “Charmes” is mainly made from grapes from younger vines. Charmes de Kirwan is made of Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot. The harvest is done manually and the grapes are sorted both on the vine and later in the wine cellar. The fermentation takes place in small stainless steel vats and the wine is stored for 20-month in tulilp-shape concrete tanks and in oak barrels. 50,000 bottles are produced every year.
