Almaviva 2021 was born under the sign of freshness, a unique vintage, a remarkable expression of the estate’s great Cabernet Sauvignon .
The cooler conditions than in 2020 from January to harvest (between March 23 and May 14, depending on the plots and grape varieties) led to an optimal ripening process.
Everything points to great fruit and freshness in the grapes, and tension, length, and perfect balance in the wines.
Almaviva 2021 is an exceptional vintage from the Chilean superstar, produced by Domaines Rothschild. Freshness, elegance, and balance are the three hallmarks of this 2021 vintage.
The Color: Deep and bright ruby
. The Nose: Fresh, elegant, complex. It opens with notes of ripe fruit and subtle floral aromas. Then, the bouquet reveals striking notes of licorice and graphite.
The palate: The attack is frank and juicy with notes of blackcurrant and raspberry. The finish reveals notes of vanilla and cocoa. The structure is delicate, the tannins are soft and polished, it is a real gem.
Aging: 20 months in new French oak barrels
The blend: 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Carménère, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot
